My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maverick is a handsome 3-year-old neutered male Norwegian Elhound. Maverick had heartworm when he came into rescue in August but he has been treated and is now ready to find his new, permanent home. This is a wonderful dog who is not only a great looking dog, but he is very sweet. He is cratetrained but not housetrained yet, although that shouldn't be hard to do since he is very smart! A fenced yard will be required to adopt Maverick.



Maverick is not in the Closer to Home Animal Advocates program. We are listing him as a courtesy for the John Nelson Moosedog Rescue Fund and his adoption will be handled through them. If you are interested in adopting Maverick, please contact them at
