CASPER's Story...
Casper was named after Casper the friendly ghost…..and if you meet him you will see why. If you are looking for a delightful, happy guy to greet you when you come home or need a play buddy for your current dog, Casper is your guy. A 50-pound Pointer-Whippet mix, he is a great dog who is looking for a family to play and cuddle up with.

Casper’s fosters are absolutely in love with him but want to see a family give him the forever home he wants. Casper is great with other dogs and has limited interest in cats. Great on a leash, he could be walked by any family member with ease. He is a polite gentleman who is content chewing on a bone, but really LOVES to cuddle in on the couch. Check Casper out in his YouTube video at this link: https://youtu.be/JYix1JcaXjQ

Casper is starting to see how good life can be after a tough 2017. He was rescued from a high intake rural outdoor shelter in Southeastern Missouri where he was on death row. There is no adoption program there, his only way out was to be rescued. Dolly's Legacy is honored to have saved his life and have promised him a happy home. Casper is truly a special little soul that so much deserved this second chance at the life he deserves. Be warned, if you meet him you will fall in love and want to take him home.

Casper was born approximately March of 2016 and weighs 50 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative and dewormed. Adoption fee is $225. Casper was provided life-saving treatment for heartworm disease. He will need to remain on heartworm preventative for life, as is recommended for ALL dogs. Why Adoption is a Great Option

CASPER, a Lincoln Pointer/Whippet dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer/Whippet for sale in Lincoln, or seeking a Pointer/Whippet dog from a breeder in Lincoln.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lincoln already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lincoln breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer/Whippet breeders who help with Pointer/Whippet rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lincoln paves the way for another one to be saved.
