Facts about Zuna

  • Breed: Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) Mix
  • Color: Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
Zuna is a 2 1/2 year old, 25 pound, Skye terrier mix. She’s a medium energy girl who is house trained and walks well on a leash but doesn’t use a crate. She’s actually an excellent walker. She knows sit and she will come when called. Zuna is also a lover of the fetch game, and she likes to follow foster mom around the yard. Zuna has lived with cats and would be fine with a dog savvy one. She is not good with children and kids who were high school aged would probably be the age she would do well with. She seems to do well with dogs who are about her same energy level. Dogs with a higher energy can make her react. She is a joyful, playful, well behaved girl, but she does have her likes and dislikes. Zuna would enjoy a quiet home with dogs that shared her energy level and people who enjoyed the company of a friendly canine.

About Potter's Angels Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Potter’s Angels Rescue (PAR) is an animal rescue group based out of the New England area that is dedicated to placing unwanted or neglected animals in loving and everlasting homes. With the economy the way it is, we are getting more and more requests for finding homes for animals that are being left behind by their owners due to moving, increased work hours, lack of time for the dog or the inability to afford the dog and it’s vet care. We also assist local animal control officers in placing our local stray population, as well as responding to neglect and cruelty complaints.
Here at PAR, we do require that all animals are spayed/neutered and made current on all their vaccinations before being placed for adoption, which is why we request an adoption fee.
Our main goal is to make sure the animals that we come across make it in to homes where they are well loved and taken care of throughout the rest of their lives. It is a very sad thing to witness the emotions that an animal goes through when they are removed from their family and we would hate to think of them going somewhere that was anything less than a loving home.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our foster pets reside in loving foster homes before they are adopted. On occasion we have special events in which you can meet some of them.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption Fees
Puppies 12 months of age and younger: $350 (Puppies adopted out that are under 12 weeks of age will not have been vaccinated against Rabies. The adopter will need to be responsible for getting them vaccinated.)
Dogs 13 months-6 years: $300
Dogs 6-8 years: $200
Over 8 years- donation of your choosing
Kittens 12 months and under: $100
Cats 13 months-5 years: $85
Cats 6-9 years: $50
Cats 10+ years: Donation of your choosing
All other species: Donation of your choosing
Unfortunately there is no such thing as a “free” animal. ALL animals need some kind of medical attention at some point in their lives. Our adoption fee for dogs includes spay/neuter surgery, Rabies vaccine, Distemper vaccine, Bordatella vaccine, precautionary deworming, microchip with registration, flea treatment (if necessary), heartworm test (if necessary), and a heartworm preventative. Cats receive spay/neuter surgery, Rabies vaccine, FVRCP vaccine, FeLV/FIV test, precautionary deworming, flea treatment (if necessary). Depending on which vet is used, our animals’ medical needs can cost upwards of $500, just for the procedures listed above. Other animals may require dental care, prescription medications or diets, or long-term intensive nursing.

Before you fill out an application please be sure that a Rescue is the option through which you are going to choose to add an addition to your family. We are all volunteers at Potter’s Angels Rescue- most with full time jobs and families in addition to volunteering and going through the entire adoption process with an applicant that then purchases a dog takes up a fair amount of precious time. We would like our volunteers to focus their efforts and time on those applicants that are serious in helping a rescued animal.
Here at Potters Angels Rescue, we strive to adopt our animals out to the best matches possible for them. This means that an animal other than the one who initially catches your eye may be a better fit for your home and lifestyle.
Our policy is to adopt to people that are 21years of age or older. This is not a first come/first served procedure as we take great care in matching our dogs to prospective homes. Please be aware that a representative will contact you as soon as possible when you either make an inquiry or complete an application, however ‘as soon as possible’ does not mean immediately nor an exact amount of time as we are volunteers. It means just that- as soon as we possibly can.
After the references have been checked on your application, you can expect a call from one of our representatives as soon as we can. This is in order to address any concerns regarding your application and gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have thought of since completing the application. After this a home visit will be scheduled with a representative and the adopter. It is required that and everyone in the household be present including the 4 legged members. If possible this will also be when the potential adopter meets the dog; although occasionally due to distance that will require a second meeting.
If you have found a specific animal you are interested in, please list the animal on the application. If you have questions about a specific animal, please send us an e-mail at info@pottersangelsrescue.org. We will then have the animal’s foster parent get in contact with you.
We are emotionally tied to the animals we rescue and remain committed to the animals and their adoptive families for their life. If there is a problem in keeping the adopted animal at any time during their life, we require that the animal come back to us for re-homing.
Additionally, if there are problems or concerns with the health or well being of an animal, we are there to help the adoptive family with the support they require.
