Sammy's Story...
Sammy is a male, purebred Maltese, 2 years of age. He has a lovely silver and tan coat that is non shedding. He is a little guy weighing 5 lbs. Sammy recently arrived from Korea after being rescued from an illegal puppy mill. Amazingly, he is friendly and personable. Sammy truly enjoys being near a person and receiving affection. He would do fine in a home with another small dog as he enjoys the company of another dog. Sammy does need help with house training and basic commands so access to a secure yard would make training easier. Most of all, Sammy needs a person with time and patience to help him learn how to enjoy life as a companion pet. Sammy is truly a sweetheart, easy to love and ready to meet his new forever adoptive family! Interested in adopting Sammy, please fill out an adoption application on our website. www.malteserescuecalifornia.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sammy, a Covina Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Covina, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Covina.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Covina already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Covina breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Covina paves the way for another one to be saved.
