Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Beanie - 4 year old male Shih Tzu mix. Beanie was rescued from a LA county shelter where he came in as a stray. We spotted him while picking up some schnauzers, he had been neutered and was ready to go home. He looks so pitiful we couldn't leave him behind. Besides being extremely emaciated, he had been stripped down to get all the fox tails out of him, he was riddled with holes from where foxtails had been. The shelter did a pre-neuter on him so they could take care of surgically removing some fox tails. We took him to the vet and found 4 more foxtails which were easily removed... but he needed additional surgery because we found 4 more that had to be surgically removed (we also did a dental on him since he was under). And still more foxtails... in fact over the course of 2 months he had FOUR surgeries before we were total rid of the foxtails! Finally Beanie is foxtail free. His fur has grown back too and he is a handsome little guy. He really is super sweet who will melt into your arms. He gets along great with other dogs, in fact he really needs a home with another dog since he does not like being alone. HBeanie has thankfully put on some weight in our care an now weighs approximately 10 pounds.
