Allie's Story...
Allie is a 2 year, 7 pound Italian Greyhound mix. Allie was rescued from a terrible hoarding case. The dogs were living in a trailer (mainly in one room) with no electricity or running water. The lady died of pneumonia. The dogs all came into the shelter covered in fleas and full of internal parasites, and most had overgrown nails. All dogs were unaltered and probably had never received any vet care. Allie has been fully vetted, spayed and is flea and parasite free.

Our Tinker and Sprite were part of this group. Allie, Tinker and Sprite love each other. They also enjoy the interaction with other dogs, as they seem to gain strength and confidence from them.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Allie, a Avon Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua for sale in Avon, or seeking a Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Avon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Avon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Avon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua breeders who help with Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Avon paves the way for another one to be saved.
