My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Good with Kids: Unknown
Good with other dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Overly interested
Housetrained: Yes, almost there
Crate Trained: Yes
Walks Nicely on a leash: Yes
Knows Basic Commands: Learning
Energy Level: Moderate
Special Needs: N/A. - No invisible fencing

Arrival Story: Volunteers sprung Kiwi from the Detroit Animal Care and Control. They fell in love the moment they met Kiwi.

Approximate Age/Weight: Under 1 year / 35 lbs

Personality: Kiwi is a kisser and a cuddler and just a sensitive soul who just wants love and affection! She has a moderate, playful energy level and likes to carry her lamb toy wherever she goes. She’s still got a lot of pup in her personality so she can be a bit mouthy at times but redirecting her to toys works well. She is a confident girl in her foster home. Outside of the home Kiwi can be a bit unsure in new places and situations so it will take time to help Kiwi become a well-rounded, confident dog, as she has already made great progress.

She enjoys time with canine pals and is learning to share toys. Kiwi is almost housetrained, and may only have accidents if left alone while not crated. She’s good on a leash and great at the vet’s office. Kiwi is good in the car but not actually a fan of the ride. Kiwi has not been around children.

Forever Home: Kiwi would do best in a home with another canine pal. We’re not sure of her exact age but she acts like a pup and will need guidance from a patient pet parent to become the companion she is meant to be.
