need to come and visit with her over a period of time so she could get to know and
love them as she is extremely shy but very loving after she gets to know you. Norma Jean is nervous around people she does not know and groups of people. It is hard to initially walk her through the lobby but once she is out, Norma Jean loves to walk!"

About Pets & People Humane Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Pets & People is a volunteer based organization that concentrates on rescuing dogs and cats from area municipal shelter"s "death row". All of these pets are tested for certain diseases, vaccinated, wormed, spayed/neutered, given preventative medication and sheltered until forever homes can be found. We primarily rescue from rural shelters in central Oklahoma but have been know to travel hours to rescue pets.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our shelter is open to the public from noon to 5:30, seven days a week. We are open on major holidays by appointment only. The address of our shelter is 701 Inla Ave, Yukon, Oklahoma.

Our Adoption Process...

Potential adopters will be required to fill out an initial questionnaire and to answer follow up questions. Veterinary references will be checked as well as home checks as necessary. We do not transport our pets to adopters. We like to have our adopters meet our pets and for us to meet them and their families. Our goal it to match our pets with appropriate homes.
