My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, My name is Bailey and I am a 3 year(DOB 1-16-2014) young English Bulldog. I was surrendered to CLHR because my Mom could no longer take care of me.

I am built like a Sherman tank and need to lose a few pounds, but we are working on that. So let me tell you a little about myself. I am incredibly sweet and love to have my belly and ears rubbed. I walk like a dream on my leash and I LOVE car rides. You open the door to the car and I am in it to win it. I look out of the window without licking them. I make any car look so much cooler.
Here are some things to consider before even sending in an application for me. I have allergies and need to be on Sensitive Stomach food because if you put me on crappy food I get the poopie and it is not pretty. My food is about $70 a month and I am not allowed to eat any human food. I will get sick when I do. I am also on Apoquel for my allergies as I itch and sneeze when I am not on my medication. The monthly cost for my medication is $102. My ears need to be kept clean as I am prone to yeast and I need my buttock glands taken care of about every 6 weeks. I have gas and I burp like a Teenage Boy.

I am super strong and will play tug o war with you until you pass out. I get super excited and you have to be super careful when you play with me as I pay no attention where the toy begins and the hand ends. I will hold on to the toy until you give up, I won’t give up. Ever!

I am 100% Housetrained as long as you make me go outside. Yes, if it is hot outside or the grass is wet you will need to carry me out or take me out on a leash or I will not go. So, I hope you are strong because I will not budge unless you make me.

My perfect home will be without children under 12. I get along with most dogs so I will need to meet any and all potential siblings. I ignore most dogs but will not back down from a fight if someone else starts it. I am tolerant but I have my limits. I am very independent and easy to live with. Since I am housetrained I have free reign of my foster home. I will crate but I am not crated at this time. I am crate trained though. But why should I sleep in a crate when there are so many beds to choose from?

So, if you can afford my care and you have previously owned or currently own an English Bulldog, please fill out the adoption application. My Adoption Donation is $250 + $50 Attorney Fee (covers legal contract and Notary Fee) So a total of $300 is needed on the day of Adoption! My Monthly care will run over $200 with my food, medication and preventatives. This does not include vet visits and potential future issues or grooming. So, if you have a hard time making ends meet, you are not going to be able to care for me properly. We suggest Insurance for Bailey as it is very cost effective and in the long run can save a ton of money.

If you meet the criteria outlined above, please feel free to fill out an Application. 😊
