Charlie's Story...
Charlie is a beautiful little Sheltie, around 1 year old. He weighs around 11 pounds, and is so light he almost floats when he runs. Charlie is a serious boy, who thinks he is the biggest dog in the yard, and also thinks it's his job to protect and herd everyone else. He runs around, watching for dogs who want to stray, and checking for dangers to his flock, in a very comical way. In his foster home, there are 10 dogs and a few cats, so he is kept very busy with these self-imposed duties. He might be happier in a home with fewer responsibilities, maybe only one other dog or cat? Or none? Charlie is very loving, and one of his favorite things is to be pet. His silky coat needs brushing twice a week for about 15 minutes, to keep the undercoat from building up. He sleeps by the bed, and loves to cuddle on the coach. He is house-trained and good in the car. He doesn't chew, but he does bark a bit, when people are outside, on the porch, etc. Charlie is fine with kids, but, because of his desire to herd , he would not be the best pick for a family with young children. (Part of his herding skill-set is nipping and yipping. He doesn't bite, it's all show. But still, not the best thing with children.) Fee $300.
