Say hello to Gage. This fine boy only wants to please and to be loved--and to have someone throw balls for him to fetch!
After Gage spent the first year of his life in a kennel in a garage, he moved in with a family who introduced him to a life with more freedom and attention. He had the run of a large yard and slept in bed with his owners. Gage loves being indoors, and he has great household manners. He is completely housetrained and enjoys free rein of the house when his people are away, although he is crate trained. When he is outside, he enjoys rolling around in the grass.
Gage interacts and plays well with other dogs. His Forever Family could have other dogs in the household, or Gage could be the only dog. He is trained to an invisible fence. He can Heel, Sit, and Stay, and he is eager to learn new commands. Gage's previous family reported that he loves pheasants but is scared of the gun, so hunting won't be in this guy's future. Gage is loyal and loving to his people, and he would sure like to have a family of his own to love.
Due to his protective nature, Gage tends to bond very closely to his human owner. His Forever Family will need to have patience and understanding for this sweet boy. He can be hesitant to meet strangers, and it takes him a bit of time to warm up to new people. However, once Gage gets to know you, he will be your loyal friend.
If you have a ball to throw and the desire for a new buddy, consider Gage! This Velcro guy will be your reliable and loving companion. He is just waiting for someone to give him the chance to be the best friend he wants to be.
Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.
Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Gage.
