My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arthur is a smart, sweet, fun and friendly, tiny eight-week-old, five-pound, male Pit Bull Terrier-mix puppy looking for a loving guardian.

Arthur was given up to rescue by a family that acquired him at a very young age but could not afford to take him to a vet for treatment. He had a case of hookworms which made him lethargic and dehydrated. He has been treated and is doing beautifully now!

Arthur is doing incredibly well with his housebreaking and crate-training. I am shocked at how smart he is. I take him out quite frequently, but every time I do, he does his business quickly! He is also excellent on leash but when his tiny legs get tired, I pick him up. He can maneuver some short steps with his short little legs, but has trouble with others.

Arthur is vet-checked, healthy, fecal-tested, de-wormed, up-to-date on distemper and bordatella vaccines. He will be micro-chipped and neutered at the end of July but is available for adoption now.

He gets along just fine with the other dogs and cats in my home, and he loves everyone he meets. He is quite mouthy and has very sharp puppy teeth, so he is recommended for an all-adult household that is willing to work on his training.

If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Arthur, please contact sheri@petraits.com for an adoption application.

His adoption fee of $375 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Petraits Rescue.

He is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
