My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Sasha. I am a 55lb, 7 month old, medium to high energy girl who was born on November 25, 2016. My parents have had a DNA analysis performed and I am mostly a mix of German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Great Dane, Rottweiler, Border Collie, Great Pyrenees, and Collie, which makes me perfect for anyone who can’t decide what dog breed they like the best. I have been a loving and well-cared for member of my household, but sadly, one of my parents has exhibited significant allergies to me and can no longer keep me.

My parents say I have a social, sweet, and playful nature as I get along well with people, dogs, and cats; though I may be cautious when first meeting them. I haven’t been around young children too much, but my interactions with them have all been positive so far. While I am still young, I have already learned to appreciate the finer things in life, such as chasing balls and bubbles in the backyard, playing soccer, getting tummy rubs, having my teeth/gums/ fur brushed, and chewing my toys to abandon.

When I am out for my walks I always take time to stop and smell the flowers. Speaking of walks, I am used to going on them twice a day for one hour each. Afterwards, I will have an afternoon nap in my crate. Although I am always ready to play, I am fine hanging out inside my crate for short periods of time if you are too busy for me.

In terms of training, I went to basic training at a local kennel, and am familiar with the commands: sit, down, stay, release, come, heel, watch me (used on walks), leave it, drop it, no, wait, off, down. I am pretty receptive and respond fairly well, but given my young age, training should be continued.  I am also crate trained.  (My crate is nice and spacious, so I don't mind hanging out in it once in a while.)

My parents currently feed me a hypo-allergenic diet consisting of wet and dry hypo food combined with cooked butternut squash or pumpkin for extra fibre. This is because I have had bad tummy aches from some types of food in the past (salmon, apples, sweet and white potatoes, elk antler, and store-bought pill-pockets). Also, I enjoy snacking on ice cubes, watermelon, baked kale, goat cheese, and dog peanut butter.

I am spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. My parents also have a pet insurance policy with Trupanion that is transferable to my new owners. I am eager to get to my forever home and hope you’ll consider making me a part of your family.

Cheers,

Sasha
