We welcome specific questions. Due to high volume of applications, we may not be able to respond immediately. Your patience is appreciated.
If an animal is on our website, it is still available but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, it is in your best interest to submit an application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
As an all-volunteer, foster home based organization, ARF does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we must give priority to pre-approved applicants.
Female kitten, not spayed yet, about 9 weeks old (as of 6/06/17, dob 4/4/17), microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, currently in a foster home, will be making appearances at ARF Adoption Events (see http://www.arf-il.org/events.html or https://www.facebook.com/A.R.F.Illinois for times and locations), adoption fee $125.
Katie is from a litter of 4 girls. Katie is best friends with her sister Kassie and they spend a lot of time together cuddling. Her bigger sister helps to keep Katie clean and neat. Katie is the runt of the litter and is a bit smaller than all of her sisters, but she makes up for it by being the most talkative of the litter. She talks all the time and gives her opinion on everything. She is a true tortie by coloring, with a dark coat and orange markings. She has a large orange stripe down the front of her face, which runs right down the middle of her nose. Right now she also keeps an unusual curl to her tail, which she might grow out of. Katie is laid back and although she can be playful, she spends a lot of time watching her sisters and foster brother play. She is just starting to get curious about the toys. Her smaller size means she can be a little timid, but she shows signs of coming out of that as she starts to catch up with her sisters. She is getting some extra care and attention to help her overcome being the runt. It would be great for Katie if she could be adopted with her sister Kassie. Every kitten should have a best friend.
If you are interested in meeting Katie, you can fill out an online adoption application at http://www.arf-il.org/application.html Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting with the cat. Filling out the application does not obligate you in any way.
If you’re invited to meet an animal, plan to arrive on time or early,
as we cannot hold animals.
All household members must be present at time of adoption, including dogs.
We appreciate your cooperation.
