Our Harley is gaining attention in the rescue group as a real nanny dog. She is super smart and laid back, loves to play with other dogs of all sizes and is very submissive by nature. What makes her stand out is that she is highly attuned to the needs of those around her, canine or human. Her current home includes two small, blind pups - new arrivals, and Harley worked hard to show them how the doggie door works, showing them by example and by nudging them through the door. Her big foster brother, normally the tough leader, gets anxious during storms and Harley goes and lies with him to comfort him - see the picture below.  She's very affectionate with humans, and we're estimating her age at about 4 years.

Harley is currently undergoing treatment for heart worm disease, which is covered, along with all her routine vetting, spay and microchip, by her adoption fee. Because of the ongoing treatment, we would consider a new foster for Harley who can provide a calm household for her with one or three fewer friends to look after. ♥

About Cody's Friends Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. Upon request, they are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $200 to $250 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $300 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.
** Please note that I do not usually adopt out my dogs with children under four years of age.
