Here's what the humans have to say about me:
John is a very sweet, gentle, affable and lovable little guy. He tips the scales at just over 18 pounds and is all lover. He is not destructive and is very quiet. I have heard him bark only twice - both times have been outdoors in response to the dogs across the street.
He adapted to our schedule almost immediately and loves attention. He is not content to sit next to you on the couch – he has to be in your lap and spreads out so he takes up every inch of available space. He is finally starting to interact more with our two females who are extremely bonded to each other. They have played some but mostly they all sprawl out together (with John on his back) on the chair in front of the window and keep a look out for squirrels, other dogs, people or anything that moves. He had one accident the day he arrived but has been perfect since then when he is not crated. We crate him at night and he keeps the crate clean. However, during the day when we leave the house, he does rebel by messing in the crate. We recently decided to try leaving him with the run of the downstairs of the house and he has behaved perfectly. He knows some commands such as sit and come, will go to the door when he needs to go outside and is very responsive to changes in tone of voice. He seems very sensitive to raised voices and a stern voice is all he needs to respond to you.
We do not have resident cats or children. He’s been fine with visiting and neighbor children, however. He also accompanies us to a nursing home weekly when we visit my elderly aunt and he is a quite a hit with the folks there.
