Hello. My name is Joy and I am a five year old that weighs about fourteen pounds.  I came to the rescue with ten other yorkies from a place called a puppy mill.  The only reason I was there was to have babies and then they took them all away.  I am glad the rescue got me out of there so I could see my dreams of a home and family come true with your help.

When I arrived her I was groomed and they did some tests.  Well one of them showed I have something called heartworms.  The rescue said they would treat them and I would be ok.  So for now I could use a foster-to-adopt home or maybe just a foster home.  When I finish my last treatment I can be adopted and it could be by you!  I like people and other dogs.  I don't consider myself as shy as some of the others that came with me although I do need work on house training.

I have been vaccinated, spay, microchipped, and groomed.  My adoption fee is 250.00.  The first step is to fill out an application at www.dogsasfamily.org.  They can call you then and talk about fostering or adopting me.  Let me be a new Joy in your life.

About Dogs As Family, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

After years of experience volunteering with other rescues I have chosen to have a small rescue that I can directly help unwanted dogs. There are so many mixed breeds that need homes I am not breed specific. I try to stop and pick up the strays or unwanted dogs no matter what there condition is and rehabilitate those that need it and completely vet everyone, then rehome no matter how long that takes. Everything I do is for the dogs because I beleive there is a home for them if you are just patient and take the time to work with each dog.
