Mojo's Story...
My name is Mojo and I am a red mini dachshund. I'm not really sure, but I think I am about 6 years old. I have always been around other dogs, but I am not sure if I know anything about cats. Since I am very small I think that little children might be too much for me, but I am super sweet so any other home would probably be great for me. A fence yard is best for me because I enjoy my freedom with running around safely in the yard. I have been noted as able to climb a fence so if you have me in the backyard and it is a chainlink then you would need to stay out there with me. If you are looking for a great companion, I may just be your guy. I have good house skills and I love a really comfy dog bed. Check me out at Henrico Humane Society.

We recommend and encourage you to complete an application at before coming to our next adoption event. To find out if I will be attending our next adoption event, please email

Adoption events are every Saturday, excluding holidays, at the Petco located at 11331 W. Broad Street, Glen Allen, VA (next to Trader Joe’s) from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mojo, a Richmond Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
