Rainey has joined the OOTW program on New Year's Day and was quickly adopted, however, due to the unhappiness of Rainey, she has come back into our program.

Here is what was going on in her home:

Rainey LOVES other dogs but she was in a home without other dogs with parents who worked all day. :( Even though they spent a lot of time with Rainey on weekends and after work, it just wasn't enough for this pretty little girl. Due to her loneliness, Rainey started barking constantly and digging. She had to expend her energy somehow.

So, what we know is, Rainey MUST go to a home with another young, active dog as well as an active family.

Rainey's date of birth is December 1, 2015, so she's just over 18 months old and she is a small shepherd mix weighing in at 35 pounds.

This little girl lives to play ball and she loves other dogs (we are not sure about cats)! She is leash trained and does well on leash while out on walks. Rainey also enjoys her kennel. She eats her meals in an open kennel so she has a good relationship with it and many times you will find her in there just hanging out. Rainey is also kenneled when her foster parents are not at home and she's doing great with that, but she is not kenneled for long periods of time because we don't think she would do well with that at all.

Rainey also enjoys going on rides in the car, sleeping in the bed with her foster parents and chewing on dog toys. Rainey is good with children as well and enjoys her foster human sister and all of her friends (10 years old kids).

Rainey had been adopted several months ago from a shelter and her owner was elderly and didn't give her the attention she really needed. This has made her a little skittish with new people, but her foster parents are doing a great job and this sweet pup gets to go to the Canine Country Club regularly. She gets great report cards from the Club ... with a gold star on "Plays Well With Others!" So, again, another active dog in the home would be a real plus for Rainey.

Rainey is a very smart, just-the-right-size girl ... If you would like to be considered to adopt this little beauty, please start here (copy and paste this link into your browser):
