Leo's Story...
Meet LEO! Recently rescued by Shadows Fund.

Friendly, loving, smart, photogenic 3 year old, 63 pound lap dog who already has a portfolio in ear and boa modeling.

This boy is one of the most affectionate, silly, all around good guys you will meet.

LEO knows how to catch treats, sit, stay, shake, down and play fetch. He’s treat and affection motivated to learn more. He’s working on learning loose-leash walking, but we’ve learned that he’s not a fan of long walks.

LEO loves car rides and has been on several outings where he has met people and other dogs of all sizes without issue.

LEO is a doggy play group Rockstar, has been excelling in his lesson plans from Doggy Dynamics, and gives the best hugs. He loves to run and play with toys, but knows how to share.

LEO's back-story is sad...Before entering the County shelter system in January 2017, Leo had been left on a chain in a dirt backyard. A good Samaritan contacted Animal Control to check his welfare and was eventually relinquished by the owner.

LEO is neutered, current on vaccines, microchipped and waiting to meet his forever family at Shadows Fund.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leo, a Lompoc Mixed Breed (Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mixed Breed (Medium) for sale in Lompoc, or seeking a Mixed Breed (Medium) dog from a breeder in Lompoc.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lompoc already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lompoc breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mixed Breed (Medium) breeders who help with Mixed Breed (Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lompoc paves the way for another one to be saved.
