Killian is a very sweet boy, he does great around people and other dogs and seems to not mind cats. Killian is doing very well with his housebreaking, but he is not much of a fan of crates. He will go in the crate but if he knows you are around he will bark trying to get your attention to let him out. Killian loves children, but he is still a puppy so he may nip a bit so if you adopt him and have small children you just need to keep an eye out. Killian loves to play with toys and go on walks, he is a all round good puppy who will still need a bit of training, we are currently working on learning to sit which when he is not distracted he will easily do. If you would like to meet this wonderful boy just fill out one of our dog adoption applications and we will schedule a meet and greet.

Our pets are fostered in volunteers' homes, not at a shelter facility. Please call our Adoption Center to schedule a meet and greet: 502 863-3279. Or send an inquiry via this website. For a copy of our application visit We do adopt out of state. Dogs/puppies are already neutered/spayed, temperament tested, micro-chipped, current on all shots, treated with Trifexis , and heartworm tested prior to adoption. Come Meet Our Pets...

All Scott County Humane Society pets are in volunteers' foster homes. We do NOT have an intake facility and are NOT the Scott County Animal Shelter. All animals in our care are from the Scott County Animal Shelter, an open-admission, county-run facility.

We do adoptions through online listings on websites such as this one, as well as EACH Saturday from 11am to 6pm at the PetSmart in Lexington at Hamburg-Pavillion! We also do adoptions at the SCHS Center in Georgetown in the Indian Acres Shopping Center.

Our Adoption Process...

A cat or kitten only leaves its foster home ONCE an adoption application has been approved. Each is spayed/neutered and has completed all required vetting per our protocols, prior to going to it's adoptive home.

SCHS vetting for foster cats and kittens includes: spay/neuter, current on shots, FeLuk/FIV test neg. (FeLuk test neg. only for kittens under 5 months of age), Rabies vaccination (cats over 6-months of age), Frontline and/or Revolution treatment, and HomeAgain Microchip. You get all the vet records for your new family member, and a starter bag of food too!
