About Needy Paws Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

Needy Paws Animal Shelter, an extension of River Valley Humane Society, has been providing sanctuary for sick, injured, homeless and abused animals for over 15 years. The shelter cares for 800-1000 animals annually; this means that there are around 80-100 animals at any given time available for adoption. Our staff members, volunteers and board of directors, in coordination with local veterinarians, work together with the mission of placing healthy, adoptable pets into loving, forever homes. We currently work with PetSmart Charities and New England Rescues to increase the opportunity for adoptions for our shelter animals; if you are an out of state rescue interested in working with us, please contact the shelter - we would love to hear from you! We are able to provide these services for the River Valley's homeless pets through community support. Help us spread the word - Adoption is a wonderful option, Spay and Neuter IS the solution! Thank you for helping us care for so many pets in need!

Directions from I40: take Exit 58, from either direction, go right off of the offramp. Pass McDonalds, take a right at the third stoplight (Subway on your right). You will now be going east on HWY 64. We are 1 mile from the stoplight on the right side of the road. We have a little blue sign with our name on it. You will turn between a big blue building (Thermotile) and a Carl Dobbs body shop, and go down a gravel driveway.
