Isis's Story...
Isis. 1-2 yo Black Sphynx.
Wow. What a gorgeous cat! We know that some of you who've never seen a Sphynx might not appreciate this cat like we do. But take our word for it, she's adorable. There's just something sweet about this cat, even though she'll hiss at you if you surprise her. That just seems to be how the Sphynx we've met act in a new environment. You'd hiss too if you'd been dumped in a cold shelter in nothing but your bare naked skin! These cats need a warm snuggly bed and sometimes a cute knitted sweater, not a cold metal box. We think Isis might be OK with other cats once she gets to know them, but she would also be fine as an only cat. Her foster mom reported that she and Nefertiti enjoyed sleeping snuggled up together, so we'd also be happy to see them go to a home as a pair.
Since these cats were obviously well cared for at one time, we suspect an elderly person passed away and the heirs dumped them at the shelter. The pictures taken of Isis were while she was at the shelter prior to coming Purebreds Plus. Since then she has been living in a private foster home.
The adoption fee for Isis is $500.00.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Isis, a Davis Sphynx cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sphynx for sale in Davis, or seeking a Sphynx cat from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sphynx breeders who help with Sphynx rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
