My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dee Dee. 5-10 yo Red Persian

Sweet Dee Dee. The name sounds like this should be a girl, but he's a boy. He's one of the cats from the 95 Himalayans in Crisis situation. He still looks a bit bedraggled. These cats were in pretty sad shape grooming wise when they came to us. Dee Dee had to be shaved down completely, even his tail.
Dee Dee is a friendly boy once he gets to know you. He was a tad aloof when he first came to Rescue, but one day he just decided his foster mom was the neatest thing ever. Now he sits where he can see her come to the door at night after work. As soon as he sees her coming he jumps off of his little table and comes to greet her. He's a little guy and probably won't weigh more than 8 lbs ever in his life. We've got him listed with an age range because of his teeth. These cats had terrible nutrition so many of them were missing teeth. Although Dee Dee is missing teeth, his remaining teeth look "young". They are fairly white, and not worn down or yellowed in the way we'd expect to see with a Senior cat. Now that he's gaining weight and getting a better diet, we'll have our vets take another look at him and give us a better estimate of his age. Regardless, Dee Dee is very healthy boy. He acts like a cat who's about 4-6 years old, still playful and curious. He gets along with other cats, even nice boy cats. We think he may be OK with dogs. We're hoping to carefully expose him to the big gentle dogs in his foster home at some point soon.
