found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.
8 years of living outside 24/7, TJ has endured endless hot summer days and frigid, cold winter nights — all alone in a fenced yard with a dog house. Sadly his former owners found it easier to toss him outside then to work to house train him or provide him with manners indoors. TJ was used for one purpose — to father litters of dachshund puppies to make money for his owners. But TJ hasn’t let that neglect dim his bright spirit. TJ has never met a stranger (unless it is a cat — and then he not only thinks they are strange, he thinks they are good for barking at) and he truly LOVES to play. TJ most likes the new toys he has as it seems he was previously only allowed to play with plastic bottles and items he could grab that were discarded in the trash. But now he has a bed and lots of toys — which he has discovered are fun to destuff! TJ is working on learning how to be house trained but until that is settled he wears a disposable belly band in the house to curb his desire to lift his leg to claim his new found fortune! TJ is getting the hang of manners and we think that with a little bit of love and devotion — he will bloom! The good news is that he will love you 1,000 times over for all of that devotion. The ideal home for TJ will be one filled with lots of love and patience (and no cats). He would most appreciate a toy box and a soft bed (and understands if you don’t buy him one filled with stuffing as he will most likely de-stuff it). He also wouldn’t mind a doggy brother or sister — and human kids are fun too! TJ will need a fenced yard as he thinks a good game of chase is better than anything else…but the good news is he walks very well on a leash!
TJ has been neutered (while in rescue), received all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. Thankfully (and surprisingly) TJ’s pearly whites were perfectly pearly white and he was not in need of a dental. TJ is ready to bound into his forever home and get to the good stuff of learning how to be a cherished family member instead of a discarded money maker. He has heard all about this thing called a “forever home” and he is looking forward to his! Local applicants are preferred. Out-of-state adopters MUST be prepared to travel to adopt TJ from his foster home (sorry, no exceptions).
