Elvis's Story...
ELVIS

Elvis is a 13 week old short haired Dachsund mix with a beautiful redbone coloration with dainty red nails and beautiful brown eyes. He is sleek and soft as an otter and a bit pudgy at the moment, but still only 5.3 pounds. He rides low to the ground on short legs and has the cutest floppy ears. He is trained to the pee pad and is working toward outdoors via a doggy door. He is playful with high energy and extremely gentle and accommodating with humans. He would prefer to go to a home with a canine companion to romp with.
If you would like to make Elvis a part of your family please fill out an application online at www.lapdogrescue.org and include his name at the top.
Please Note, Elvis's adoption fee is $225.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elvis, a Tijeras Dachshund/Chihuahua puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Tijeras, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua puppy from a breeder in Tijeras.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tijeras already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tijeras breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tijeras paves the way for another one to be saved.
