My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kiwi is a white poodle mix with a little tan around the ears and tail. His fur is long hair so he will require grooming and combing once in a while. He weighs about 10 pounds and is about 10 inches high. He is probably less than a year old, and still has a lot of his puppy energy. He runs around a lot and can be very busy, but loves attention so if he’s too busy we can pick him up, or he’ll sit on our lap and be still. He loves to be cuddled and gives kisses.
Kiwi does like toys to play with and chew. He can jump fairly high for a small dog, so he has no problem getting on furniture or a bed, or getting into a car. He’s potty trained, knows “sit” and very quickly learned to ring the doggie bell to go out. He walks okay on leash, but could use a little improvement in that area. He’s very intelligent, so will learn quickly. We were warned that he was an “escape artist”, and when we got him he chewed through his harness, but he’s made no attempt to leave our fenced yard. Kiwi loves to chase cats, like most dogs. He hasn’t hurt the cats, he just runs up to them and tries to herd them. He rides really well in the car, with no anxiety or signs of sickness. He just sat in the back seat and didn’t try to bother the driver.
(An adoption donation of $300 is required.) If you are interested in this dog, please go to the Adopt page of our website where you will find a link to an adoption application form https://www.chewdogrescue.org/index.php/adopt. If you have previously submitted an application form, there is no need to re-apply. Just let us know you're interested in this dog. We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with current vaccinations, before being placed in their forever homes.
