My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet girl was severely neglected when we rescued her. We are unsure of her age as one vet said she is approx 4 years old while another said 8 yrs old - She is 42 lbs and as she is a little underweight, we are working to get her to a healthy weight. She is just the best behaved girl, she is quiet, gets along with all of the other dogs, and she is so well behaved you forget she is around!! She loves her doggie bed, seems to be well house and leash trained. She is a happy dog that gets along with all of the other dogs and people. We are not sure what type of dog she is but may have some schnauzer/border terrier/wheaten in her mix. When we rescued her, she had skin infections, heart worms and needed bi lateral acl surgery. Her skin issues have been resolved, her heart worms treated and she has also been started on a monthly heartworm preventative. Our orthopedic surgeon fixed her back legs and she is well on her way to recovery. She had to be shaved down as her coat was so matted and her beautiful coat is growing back.

The total adoption cost of $525 includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration . The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. All our dogs are in foster care, there is no physical shelter. Some have not yet arrived in PA. Our application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/
