Maggie's Story...

Maggie, fka Blackie, (and also known as String Bean) is a 2 year old chihuahua who was surrendered to the local kill shelter when she gave birth to a still born puppy and did not deliver the rest of her litter.  Upon arrival to the shelter, she received a c-section and 3 other puppies were delivered, unfortunately, already passed.  Maggie was cut almost the entire length of her body for this invasive surgery.  After delivery, she was spayed.  She is also UTD on shots, and microchipped.  She is negative for diseases like Lyme's and heartworm.  Maggie is a typical chihuahua and thinks she's a big dog.  She makes her presence known when she encounters any other animal, by voicing her ferocious chi bark.  Maggie is enjoying life in her foster home with dogs of all sizes and cats.  She loves to cuddle and is the perfect little dog to just carry around.  If you are looking for an outspoken chi who really does answer to the name String Bean, she's your gal.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maggie, a Nesquehoning Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Nesquehoning, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Nesquehoning.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Nesquehoning already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Nesquehoning breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Nesquehoning paves the way for another one to be saved.
