Shadow's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, good with kids, not good with dogs, and good with cats.

Shadow's Story...
Shadow is a beautiful, soft, sweet, loving yet feisty 10-month-old, slim and sleek Russian Blue cat-mix with golden eyes looking for a loving guardian.

Shadow was found living outside in the Irving Park neighborhood. Her rescuer thought she was a wild cat and got her TNR’d … (ear tipped and spayed to live outdoors). But when she was released, she mewed at their door wanting to come in and following her family everywhere. She was their Shadow.

Despite her being outdoors, she is not particularly street-smart and has been witnessed standing in the middle of the road. But, she is also a door-darter hard to keep inside at first!

She loves to be brushed and pet. She’s not as happy to be picked up, but she’s a foodie so she can be encouraged to do just about anything for food.

Shadow is healthy, spayed, de-wormed, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines, micro-chipped and virus-tested negative. Her adoption fee of $75 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Petraits rescue.

To meet and possibly adopt Shadow, please contact Sheri at sheri@petraits.com for an adoption application. She is currently being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shadow, a Chicago Russian Blue cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Russian Blue for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Russian Blue cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Russian Blue breeders who help with Russian Blue rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
