Thinking about bringing Skeeter or another wonderful Senior Springer into your family? Read why rescuing Senior Springers is a top priority for ESRA.

Hi! I’m Skeeter. I came to ESRA after my owner died. It was a very hard adjustment for a while, but I’m doing much better now. I’m a senior, but I look, act, and feel much younger. I can keep up with my younger canine foster sister on our walks and at the off-leash dog park, and she’s only four! I LOVE to go for walks. I also love to fetch a ball and be with my humans. I like all people, and I get along great with other dogs. I’m really curious, loving, affectionate, and loyal, and my foster mom says that I’m very endearing. If you'd like to meet me, I'd love to meet you! Please get in touch with my case managers. Their e-mail address is below.

Love,
Skeeter

From Skeeter’s foster mom: Skeeter was anxious for the first few days when she came to our home, but she settled in quickly and has fit in wonderfully. She has some separation anxiety, and she wants to have me in her sight pretty much all the time. She will bark when I leave the house, but only if she can see outside. Closing the windows seems to have resolved that problem.

Skeeter is on a medication every five days for a minor urinary leak that may occur when she’s asleep. The medication controls this issue.

Skeeter is a sweet, loving, funny, spry, and charming girl, a typical Velcro Springer who wants nothing more than to be with and be loved by her humans. She would do well in a home either with or without another dog. Skeeter's ideal home will be one where her humans can spend quite a bit of time with her, give her a lot of attention and love, and not leave her alone for too many hours at a time. It's a pleasure to be around this affectionate girl!

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Skeeter.
