Austin's Story...
Got love? Meet Austin, a very gentle approximately 1.5 year old, 55 lb Labrador mix. Austin came to Res-Que from the reservation and was previously very frightened and not used to much human contact. He is learning to be part of the family and that people are his friend. He will need a family that is extremely patient and willing to give him time to trust and adjust to a whole new life. Austin is UTD on shots, microchipped, house-trained, good with other dogs and cats, and unknown with small children. He loves treats, cuddling, and playing with his foster sister. A house check, adoption contract, and a fenced yard is required through Res-Que. If interested in finding out more about this sweet boy and to see if he is the right fit for an addition to your family, please email Austin's foster at: bigdogmel@hotmail.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Austin, a Reno Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Reno, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Reno.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Reno already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Reno breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Reno paves the way for another one to be saved.
