Odvin ('odd-vihn') is an old Norwegian name that means 'spear friend', a loyal friend who will always have your back through thick and thin. This Odvin is a manly stud muffin of a cat and is about 6 years old now. He previously lived his life on the streets and looks a little rough around the edges from his battles to survive.
Now that he has had medical attention for skin mites and a major dental (he had some really nasty, painful teeth), Odvin is living the life of luxury that he deserves. He's pretty sure he died and went to Valhalla. Tuna at every meal?!
He is a loving, thick-boned man who is patient and pretty darn tolerant. Besides tuna, he also enjoys cheek rubs and sleeping in heated beds. His little pink nose is adorable and his fur is just the right amount of floof. Odvin has done amazingly well when meeting new cats, dogs might be alright if they are respectful. He is not particularly interested in toys.
Odvin bears his scars with pride, and because of his fight to survive he did test positive for FIV. Many cats live long, fulfilling lives with this diagnosis; please contact us if you would like more information.
In the end, Odvin will be a steadfast companion and loving friend for anyone who can pledge the same.
If you are interested in adopting one of our wonderful cats or kittens, you can apply on our website: http://www.commcat.org . Please allow several days for us to process your application. We are a small, all-volunteer group and we are doing our best to work quickly! After the application is processed we will make arrangements for you to meet the cats that interest you. All of our cats and kittens are raised in our homes and live with us until they are adopted. They live with us as part of our families so we know them very well and we can help you find your perfect cat! Cats are rarely caged (only if its medically necessary) so you can visit with them and see how they act in a home. Our adoption fees are $50 for adult cats, $85 for kittens under one year, and double the love with two adult cats for $85. All cats are spayed or neutered, dewormed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, tested for FIV and FeLV (feline leukemia), and microchipped.

Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply.
