Looking for a sweet senior who loves everyone he meets and who still has plenty of pep in his step? Then please give Mackey your consideration and you won't be sorry!
Mackey is a Bassett Hound who loves to run and play, loves belly rubs and scratches behind his ears. He walks great on a leash, and gets along with other dogs. Although Mackey is a little older at 8 years old, he can keep up with the younger dogs with no problem. He likes nothing better then to take a long mile or two walk everyday. So if you need a running or walking buddy, then Mackey is the boy for you.
Mackey is currently in a wonderful foster home with a family who loves him a lot - here is what foster mom tells us about Mackey in her home: "He is the sweetest, calmest and most loving dog I ever met. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him. I take him for a walk twice a day so he gets to socialize with the neighbors and their fur babies as well (this neighborhood has lots of dogs!!). I have taken him downtown so he can see the sights of our town and meet all the folks out and about so he gets tons of attention and pets." Sounds like Mackey has really hit the jackpot with his foster family, doesn't it?
Mackey would love to once again have a home of his own. He had an owner who loved him for years, but due to the owner's health issues he turned him over to a shelter. Mackey spent almost 2 years at that shelter before EHR came to his rescue.
Mackey is completely housebroken, is neutered and fully vetted, and weighs around 55 pounds. Please give this sweet older boy another chance at a home, and fill out an application on Mackey today, making sure you ask for MACKEY SCAS!
