Charo's Story...
We'd like to introduce you to María del Rosario Mercedes Pilar Martínez Molina Baeza, better known as Charo!

Charo is a 3 year old, 45lb Boxer mix who has silky, soft ears, endless kisses and wiggles for days. Nothing beats coming home after a long shift and having this happy girl greet you! Because of her short tail, her entire back end sways giving her that Cuchi-Cuchi wiggle!

This girl is a dream! She's crate trained, house trained, is gentle and playful with her foster siblings (canine and feline, large and small), but is also a fun and cuddly companion. She has a spring in her step and is working on leash walking and not introducing herself everyone she meets with a hug - but she really is just an excited, lovable girl!

Charo is just as content sleeping at your feet as she is in her crate, chewing on a toy. She is polite and quiet; the kind of girl you take home to meet the parents, but she knows how to have fun!

If you'd like this wonderful girl to wiggle her way into your home and heart, apply today!

To adopt this pet, please visit www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. Please note that our pets come from shelters, so we CANNOT guarantee age, breed, mix of breeds, or adult size.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: http://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home.

An application does not obligate you to adopt, and can be transferred to any pet. You will receive an automated confirmation once your application is successfully submitted. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call ASAP. If you would like to transfer your application to a different pet, please email your confirmation number to info@louieslegacy.org

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal. Please note that we do not perform same-day adoptions.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charo, a Cincinnati Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Labrador Retriever for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Boxer/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
