Here's what the humans have to say about me:
When we are asked about a special rescue pup that is snuggly, sweet and very fun-loving, we can't help but think of Asia. Her smile is shining...and maybe just a bit mischievous.
Asia's rescuer knows it's morning when her little head comes under the blanket...getting closer and closer..and then a kiss and a hug. This curious and really, really smart 12 - 15 month old, 10 - 12 lb Dachshund/Rat Terrier mix is such a great size..perfect for nighttime snuggles and lap time. During the day, Asia loves walks, playtime and of course cuddling... and is just right to take everywhere a sweet pup is welcome.
Asia is a truly great companion. There aren't lots of visible signs that she was in a very scary situation. She's sometimes shy and can hold back..but a warm hug and reassuring words..and Asia bounces back and cuddles just a bit closer.
We picture Asia as the best friend to active retirees. She'd be so loyal.. and overjoyed to share her love and good will. There's also no question that Asia would be the most popular girl on the block. Once comfortable, she loves to engage and just be her entertaining, adorable self. Even though Asia is usually up for pretty much any activity, she's not pushy or yappy. Exercise..perhaps long, leisurely walks to socialize with neighbors..and mental stimulation that comes from time spent with her humans will keep Asia happy and fulfilled.
Asia would also enjoy time with gentle, dog-loving kids. She's an easy-going pup..but we wouldn't want her tail being pulled or anything but the gentlest of handling. Asia derives so much joy from her relationships, we would love to see her in an active family that just loves her dearly...she's a great dog that deserves this in her life.
The Doxy/Terrier mix is reliably such a great family dog! They tend to be incredibly cute...with the softest hair ever, very smart and the most devoted of companions. If you combine that with the energy and cuddliness of the Terrier combined with the inquisitive, very funny/silly nature of Dachshunds... you end up with a humorous and loyal family member...in other word, a dog just like Asia!
Asia won't be spayed when she arrives in Denver - while we request it, there just aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of New Mexico. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Asia's spay and microchip after her arrival in Colorado if our Denver vet is used.
Asia will be arriving on transport on Saturday 6/24/17. If interested in this sweet and very loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
