My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please welcome Scarlett to Paws and People Rescue!!! Sweet Scarlett is approximately 2 years old and weighing just about 7lbs. She has a puppy look on life as it seems she didn't know much about it before she came to our rescue. While she has been with us, her confidence has flourished. She has learned what fun it is to really be a dog. Playing with her foster siblings and going to doggy daycare daily she has learned that she is a bit on the alpha side but knows her people are still top dog. She enjoys playing with toys and discovered plastic bottles are the best. She now walks great on a leash and highly enjoys a nice leisurely walk as well as curling up for a nap on a nice long car ride. She does well in a crate only becoming slightly noisy with excitement when she knows she is rejoining the world. Also learning to master her housebreaking we are still working on her letting someone know she needs to go out. As long as we are constant with her bathroom breaks, she does not have accidents. As her confidence builds so does her trust in people. When held she will either hold her head tighly over your shoulder or tucked nicely under your neck. Such a perfect little cuddler. She has begun to not just tolerate affection but started seeking it out and has begun bonding strongly to her foster mom. She is typically found following her around the house and or laying close by. The world can be a scary place for such a small girl and those insecurities have made her a finicky little eater. She has gained some weight while with us but is still very skinny. She will need someone who can take the time to make sure her meals are healthy and irresistible to keep gaining weight. All in all Scarlett is a shy but sweet girl looking for a home where she can continue to grow into the awesome girl she is meant to be!
