My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sunny is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 70#. He is housebroken, crate trained, does pretty well on a leash, and is overall a polite guy. He isn't destructive in the house and we frequently give him free run while we are gone for short periods of time or at night. He does love our recliner and is usually asleep in it when we get home. Sunny adores cats and ours walk right up to him and rub around his legs while he wags his tail and sometimes offers them a play bow. He is generally good with other dogs, but can be selective of his friends. A meet and greet would be suggested for any current dogs in his new home. Sunny enjoys his toys and has no sense of personal space. He thinks he is a lap dog and absolutely loves to cuddle. We thought Sunny had found the perfect family, but after a couple of months in their home, he became protective of them. It is understandable that he would want to protect the best things he had ever experienced. This behavior can be managed with training, patience, and time. For that reason though, Sunny might do best in a relatively quiet home or in a family with plenty of dog experience. Sunny is a smart boy who catches on quickly and wants to please, so we really believe this behavior could be corrected. He has not shown it in his foster home and we would keep him in a heartbeat... if we weren't so well blessed already. Sunny knows some basic commands and loves to train with the clicker.
