Sheldon is currently living in a foster home in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.

Sheldon is a 7 month hound mix that weighs around 40 lbs. He has that laid back personality of a hound dog, and is good with other dogs and kids. He loves everyone he meets right away - he will lean up against your legs to show his love for his new friends he meets. His foster is teaching him how much fun it is to walk on a leash, and ride in the car. He is doing well with house training and is looking forward to finding his forever family...he thinks that might be you!

Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a home visit, and once
approved a meet and greet with the dog. Please note that preference is given to adopters in
Wisconsin, but out of state adoptions will be considered. Adoption fee is $250.

About Paddy's Paws

About Our Rescue Group...

Our primary goal is to find adoptive homes for these amazing animals that are located in shelters, rescues and foster homes. How does it work? You fill out a Paddy's Paws Application which will be submitted for approval for adoption to the Houston rescues. This application is used for Lola's Lucky Day and Houston K911, two 501c3 organizations. Why the same application for two different organizations? It helps streamline the process! There may not be a dog in Lola's for you, but there might be at K911...and you don't have to go through additional steps!

Our adoption process works a bit different than other shelters and rescues! Paddy's Paws serves as a coordinator for Houston rescues. We send out the applications, arrange homevisits and secure back up fosters for each of the dogs that will be transported here. Like most foster-based organizations, we do not have a facility and set up all appointments on an individual basis. Prior to any meet and greets, we require an approved application so we will need to go through all the steps before having you meet any of the available dogs here in Wisconsin.

The application, reference checks and homevisit are considered part of the general approval process and we cannot guarantee that a specific dog will still be available when you complete the process, but doing so will get you access to our "match making" service where you will have bios and pictures of multiple dogs that may be exactly what you're looking for! And, of course, there's always the possibility that the dog that sparked your initial interest will still be available!

We start with the completed application and then check references/vet records. The next step is a homevisit with family and one of our representatives. Once we have gathered all this information, we provide it to the Houston team. Then, we can set up a meet and greet with available dogs.
