found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Rio is a cute as can be.. and a very sweet guy who favors the look and loyalty of the Wheaten while taking on the very intelligent and engaging qualities of the Cairn Terrier. Rio's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...he makes close playmates everywhere he goes. Rio is friendly (while perhaps initially shy) and that means everyone he meets has the potential to become a close companion. You know when a loved one approaches, Rio's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through his entire body ending in a smile. And if your lap is available, up Rio loves to go to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of his devotion.
Rio is such a wonderful being...we think he represents the best qualities of the Terrier breeds. At about 6.5 years old and 15 lbs, Rio seems to have left behind the neglect and lack of love that made up his early life. He has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier his family is with his behavior, the more he shines with his accomplishments. We would like to see Rio in a home that includes him in family time and activities...he'd love to be involved and would thrive in a forever home that truly loves him and considers him a very important family member.
Rio would be a wonderful companion for retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young dog. Rio would be overjoyed to accompany his favorite people to the park, walking beautiful Colorado trails and even riding shotgun running errands. Rio doesn't require another dog to be happy.(as long as he gets both physical exercise and mental stimulation from his people). He does, however, enjoy his canine relationships with kind and gentle dogs.
As per Rio's rescuers: Rio will require a family that's open to periodic grooming. His golden coat will require baths/brushing to keep it cottony-soft and matt-free. Great nutrition is also necessary for general health... and a gorgeous coat. Salmon oil would be a great supplement for Rio to keep his hair healthy and very shiny.
Rio is great with other dogs, doesn't seem to mind cats and is great with kids (truly loves all humans!). He walks pretty well on leash as well as off. Rio is very ready for a great home and will bring so much love and kindness to his family. He's definitely a gem!
Rio is in a foster home in the Denver area. If interested in this very loving and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to email@example.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
