My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JASMINE WAS ADOPTED. Adoptapet transfers automatically to other sites, and some of them do not yet have the message that she is adopted. I am sorry that people who have lost a Maine Coon are disappointed when they find that she is still advertised some places. We have no control of sites that copy from adoptapet.

But we have an adorable 8-week-old red boy who was just listed http://www.adoptapet.com/pet/19327932-columbus-ohio-kitten

The color listed is correct. Jazzy was born mostly black, but she is quickly turning into a gorgeous tabby Maine Coon. The brown tabby is the most popular color of Coons (and I think the most beautiful cats that I have ever seen.) It is very common for a black kitten to turn into a tabby, just like silver poodles are born black.

It is obvious Jasmine has a Maine Coon parent. She has the long ear tuffs, the bushy tail, and she is starting to grow the paw tufts. Both she and her sister have always been large for their age. But the main reason that she is definitely Maine Coon is her personality. Maine Coons are known for intelligence, train-ability, dog-like personality, loyalty to their people, etc. They are one of the best cat breeds for children.

This is an unbelievable kitten. She has everything. Jazzy is one of the three most perfect kittens that we have ever raised at the rescue.

OUTGOING. Jazzy is very, very outgoing and friendly to humans. She makes up very well with strangers. She is extremely energetic and playful.

VERY LOVING. Jasmine gives me more kisses than any previous kitten has ever done. If she is near my face, she starts kissing.

CUDDLY. When she is not running and jumping, Jazzy loves to snuggle around your neck. She will climb up my shirt to kiss me on the lips, then she will curl up and nestle against my neck and shoulders. And sometimes, she gives my ear or nose a nibble. Maine Coons are not known for cuddling. But as a rescue, she can't be pure-bred, so she inherited a desire to be held from her other parent.

INTELLIGENT AND TRAINABLE. I rarely refer to cats as "trainable", but this kitten is as easy to train as a dog (actually, easier than most dogs). In seven years of raising orphan kittens, she has been the easiest to train. She is already trained to stay off counter tops. She stops doing something if I say "No, No". I had her trained not to bother my 17-year-old feeble toy poodle by only 5 weeks old.

LOYAL Even though she adores running and playing, she always stays in the same room I am in. She needs to be near people and animals. She is so dog-like in her attachment to people.

TALKY. If you want a kitten that talks to you a lot, it is Jazzy. She regularly looks right in your face, and tells you what she is thinking. She is even talking in the third picture shown.

CLEAN. She is one of the cleanest kittens we have ever raised. By just five weeks old, she was using the kitty litter well. This is very unusual when they do not have a cat mother to show them what to do.

Jasmine and her sister were rescued in Worthington Ohio at only five days old by kind people when their neighbor's cat had a litter that she was killing. Jazzy was cuddled and hand-fed throughout every day (and night) for the next six weeks.

Won't you consider giving this adorable baby a permanent home. She would repay you with kisses and love!
