Facts about Angie

  • Breed: American Shorthair
  • Color: Spotted Tabby/Leopard Spotted
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
Angie has come a long way in a short period of time…when we first met Angie, she was in sad shape, suffering from terrible food allergies that left her feeling itchy, miserable, and not enjoying life very much. After too many baths to count, a change in diet, and lots of TLC, Angie is doing fabulous! Angie’s scabs are healing nicely, she’s enjoying interactions with both people and other kitties, and she is beginning to dabble in playtime. Angie is clearly feeling much better! In case you were wondering, Angie is really good about getting a bath even if it takes two people to get the job done!

Angie is very affectionate with her people, happy to cuddle on your stomach or chest for hours. Literally…she sat on a volunteer’s stomach for over an hour without moving an inch except to head butt her face into the palm of the volunteer’s hand! Its tough being a volunteer sometimes…! Not surprisingly, Angie is also quite happy to cuddle in your lap as well! In addition to petting and scratching, Angie also enjoys being brushed.

This sweet girl has a loud, clear meow that she will use when she decides she wants your attention. It’s not a one-way street though…Angie knows her name and will come from across the room to trot right over when you call her name! Now that she is feeling better, she not only enjoys cuddling with people, she also is open to sharing your lap with another cuddly kitty! Angie has also started running around with her kitty roommates and has discovered the many joys of chasing feather wands!

Seeing Angie’s transformation has been incredible! We’re certain she’ll only continue to bloom once she is in a home with a family to call her very own. She’s going to make some lucky family a wonderful companion! To learn more - www.azrescue.org

About RESCUE

About Our Rescue Group...

RESCUE is a registered non-profit volunteer based animal rescue organization located in Maricopa County. RESCUE has no central facility and is volunteer run. Our focus is on the "kill lists." We were founded in 1995, and with the support of our volunteers and our community, we have found homes for over 11,000 dogs and cats. Our motto is for every animal adopted, we are back to rescue another. We depend on the community for our support and offer a variety of satisfying ways for you to get involved in our mission to end the killing of the orphaned dogs and cats. Please consider adopting, volunteering or donating.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not have a shelter. We are at various special events around the valley. Please see our Upcoming Events section on our website for further information. We look forward to meeting you and introducing you to some of our wonderful animals.

Our Adoption Process...

Fill out an online application, have an interview with a Matchmaker, if we are in philosophical alignment, set up a meet and greet and if all goes well finalize the adoption. Our service fee for dogs is $150 and $125 for cats. All our dogs and cats are spayed and neutered prior to adoption.
