Dinah is a super sweet and affectionate love bug. She has a mellow temperament and is very gentle with people. Unfortunately Dinah was surrendered to Poochmatch, pregnant and malnourished. She is currently in a guarded state of mind so we have not been able to see how she does with other dogs or cats. She has an appointment for spay this week - as sad as it is it was our veterinarian's recommendation. Once she has a chance to recuperate from her surgery we will be able to update her narrative with more information.

If you are interested in meeting any Poochmatch dog at our weekly adoption event on Saturdays at the Petsmart in Yorba Linda, CA (5521 Mirage St.) between 1-5 PM, please fill out an application from our website, poochmatch.com, and return it via email to poochmatch@hotmail.com no later than 11 AM on Fridays. Upon receipt AND approval, the dog you are interested in meeting will be made available to meet on a Saturday. Due to the high volume of dogs and puppies in our foster homes, it is impossible to bring them all every Saturday. The only way to ensure that the dog that you are interested in will be at the adoption event is to FILL OUT AN APPLICATION AND BE APPROVED. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that the dog you are interested in will be at our adoption event. If you cannot make the time frame of our events, appointments can be made at another time and location solely at the discretion of the foster parent. Please understand that private appointments will be coordinated to meet the convenience of the foster parent/transporter. We cannot hold dogs, please submit your application when you are ready to adopt.

All adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, core vaccinations (rabies and 2 sets of distemper/parvo), fecal testing and deworming. Adoption fees vary solely based on age and size.

About Poochmatch

About Our Rescue Group...

I became involved in animal rescue because of the overwhelming number of stray animals I observe in less affluent areas of Southern California. I do what I do because I enjoy connecting all the dots - full circle - in terms of rescuing dogs, getting them cleaned up, treated medically and then adopted.

Poochmatch is a small rescue group with half-a dozen volunteers. Since our founding in 2006, we have done over 2,500 dog adoptions. We are on track to do over 300 in 2017.

We do not have a secretary - we are completely volunteer-based and so we respond to emails, calls and voicemails as quickly as possible. We'd love to have more assistance. We need help administratively from individuals with computers, digital cameras and marketing skills. We also need volunteers for our Saturday events, individuals 18 years or older, to help walk our dogs, maintain clean crates and provide them with fresh water for them. Please note we do not accept volunteers who treat our events as a hang-out and are generally distracted while tending the dogs - that is a disaster waiting to happen. We also do not accept volunteers who treat the event as a petting zoo and "hog" dogs. While we do appreciate and encourage that our volunteers interact with our dogs it is our one day a week to find them a forever home and we also want potential adopters to be able to interact with them. If you are interested in adopting, please send us an email at poochmatch@hotmail.com to make sure that we will be holding an event on the Saturday you are interested in volunteering. We could really use dedicated volunteers too! Please see http://poochmatch.com/volunteer.html for more information.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Adoption events are generally held every Saturday at Petsmart in Yorba Linda (Savi Ranch) 5521 Mirage Street from 1-5 PM. While we do accept walk-up applications please understand that we do give preference to those who have already completed the adoption application and have been approved prior to the event. To confirm we will be holding an adoption event, call Lydia at 714-241-9765.

Our Adoption Process...

We do not have a facility. Our dogs are in foster homes with volunteers.

We do not do out-of-state adoptions for puppies. We would only consider out-of-state adoptions for adult dogs that prove hard-to-place locally. We do not hold dogs, please submit your application when you are ready to adopt.

All prospective adopters must complete and adoption application. Upon receipt AND approval (usually within 72 hours), a mutually agreeable appointment date, time and place will be scheduled. Prospective adopters must be receptive to a home check, sign an adoption contract and provide an adoption fee. The adoption fee for young or adult dogs is generally $225 - $295. The adoption fee for puppies varies from $325 to $475. The adoption fee always includes the cost of spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, deworming, fecal testing and all core vaccinations: rabies vaccine and 2 sets of distemper/parvo for an adult dog and 4 sets for a puppy.

All of our dogs are vetted prior to becoming adoptable - although not everything is always revealed in the initial health check. We do request that if one of our dogs becomes ill shortly after being adopted that their adopter contacts us ASAP so that we can assist them.
