There is probably a certain image that you visualize when you hear the words, ‘Jimmy Dean’, and you wouldn’t be too far off in your thinking; at my last vet visit, I weighed 49 lbs.! I have already lost a pound or two in my foster home, so I am definitely making progress! The vet did some lab work and checked my thyroid, just to make sure it wasn’t contributing to my extra weight. The test turned out fine, so it looks like a healthy diet and some exercise will become a part of my new life! I am a bit of a couch potato, so an active home with someone who is willing to take me outside for walks would be ideal. For now, there is just more of me to love!
Here are some things that my foster mom wanted you to know about me: “Jimmy Dean is a sweet boy that prefers people; he is my shadow. He is ok with the smaller dogs, but is not comfortable with those larger than him. He has ignored the cats and we have not had any kids for him to meet. He is house trained and has not been crated while here. (He is not fond of the crate and will only go in it when being fed.) He has not shown any destructive behavior when left alone in the house. He does not like to be picked up OR have his nails trimmed. (These 2 areas will be a challenge for some people, but the right beagle owner will figure out how best to work with him.) He is easy to walk and likes to play ‘chase’ with the smaller dogs. He will run after a ball, but will not bring it back. (That is YOUR job!) He likes to ride in the car without being crated. He is easy to bathe and prefers to sleep in my bed.”
In Rescue, Jimmy Dean is a great boy! He is house trained and likes to 'chill' with the other beagles. Could he be the right doggie for you? Come to Petsmart on Saturday and meet sweet Jimmy Dean!
