Penni is a 3-1/2 yr old mini dachshund surrender who came to Lucky Dog this past March. She is very affectionate and attached to her foster dad. No day would be better than laying on the couch watching the ball game together. She is very affectionate with her family and friendly with other dogs in the home.
She is 99.9% dachshund, so she is also very protective of her pack, and will bark at strangers and other dogs. With a proper introduction, she will accept and love on friends and neighbors. She walks on her lead very well, but has room for improvement. Penni is also 100% house trained and loves her crate.
She has had a rough early life that included abandonment and puppies very early, so she needs and deserves time, affection, and a home where a family member is around most of the time. She gets nervous when she is alone and will stir things up a bit, but she is not destructive and does not chew things up. If you have time and a warm heart for Penni, she will be a true friend forever.
Like all our dogs Penni is spayed, vaccinated and micro chipped. Her adoption fee is $250. If you are interested in meeting her please fill out an application.

About Lucky Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Lucky Dog Rescue came into existence after one individual started saving one dog at a time back in late March of 2004. It began as a Dalmatian rescue, originally named Phoenix Dalmatian Station.

After seeing so many nice, highly adoptable dogs sitting in concrete cells in the county shelters, being put to sleep when no one came to the rescue, it quickly evolved into an all breed commitment, and we began saving several other breeds and mixes too! We are now a growing group of dog lovers who help all breeds and are committed to giving dogs a second chance at finding a forever home.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our dogs can be seen at weekly adoption events throughout the valley or by appointment. Please visit for the most current information.

Our Adoption Process...

Our current adoption fee for adults (> 8 months old) is $250 and for puppies (< 8 months old) the fee is $300. The Adoption fee for senior dogs (7+ years) is $200. These fees cover the vaccines, microchipping, neuter/spay surgery, county license, and vet check for the dog.

Before an adoption can take place we do require that all potential adopters fill out an application. Once the application has been approved a home visit may be conducted. All adopters must sign a contract in order to finalize the adoption.
