Ron's Story...
Look at our cute Ron, who is looking for someone special to give him a happily ever after. Ron is a smaller guy at only 25 pounds - a perfect size for your lap! Ron knows some basic commands, such as sit, stay and down. Ron is a shy fella, but when gets into a home environment, he is like a different dog! Our 3-year-old guy is looking for a patient person to show him how wonderful life truly is. Ron came to us when another rescue asked for help. Ron was one of 85 dogs rescued from a small house in a hoarding case. Until his rescue, Ron had never felt sunshine or touched grass. Now, Ron is well on his way to a happy life. It takes him a bit to trust and warm up, but we know he's worth the wait. Have another furry companion? Ron is good with other dogs and would love another dog to help him with his transition to your home. He is learning to walk on a leash, works hard to keep his crate clean, and just wants to be your special friend. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. Ron lived through deplorable conditions and we are searching for the person who will give him a fresh start. If you are that person who can show Ron true love and give him a lifetime commitment, please submit an application at Don't wait! Ron wants to start your happily ever after together!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ron, a Evansville Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Evansville, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Evansville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Evansville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Evansville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Evansville paves the way for another one to be saved.
