This little boy loves to be cuddled, and when he wants you to hold him, he isn’t shy about telling you! He is very dramatic when he plays, jumping straight up in the air when he gets startled, and loves jumping off of things to tackle his step sisters. Once he has tuckered out from all of his hard play, he seeks out whichever human he is wanting at the time, goes to there feet, and meows with all his might!!! Once you pick him up, he purrs away and will fall asleep in your arms. He spends a lot of time hanging out with his foster brother Augie-doggie. He loves going after his tail and hanging around his neck, but best of all is kicking him out of his bed and taking it for himself. Augie quickly learned that a good way to quiet Ollie down is to lick Oliver’s ears, it makes him fall sound asleep, so he can sleep too! It is very important that Oliver have a home that wants to give him A LOT of attention and affection, he will demand it! He loves talking to humans. He doesn’t do well being alone, and definitely needs a furry friend (dog or cat) that would play and snuggle with him. About Community Animal Welfare Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1992 the Community Animal Welfare Society ( CAWS) is one of the oldest no-kill animal rescues in Utah. Over the last 20 years CAWS, our fosters and supporters have saved thousands of lives including over 600 last this year. As the largest foster home network in the state of Utah we focus on high risk pets in need of additional care and rehabilitation

Come Meet Our Pets...

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.

Our Adoption Process...

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at, email or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.
