Winston is a roughly 8-month-old puppy. He was brought into the vets office after being hit by a car. He had mange and had lost most of his fur. Winston couldn't use either of his back legs. He had to have two surgeries in order to be able to walk again. Now his fur has grown back and he can run around like any puppy should. He is very sweet and absolutely loves to lay on his bed or yours and relax. He is very calm baby and once he trusts you he will be your favorite snuggle buddy. He is good with other dogs and seems to ignore cats. He is fine with kids too, but likes to have his own kennel space to lay down in if they get too excited. Because of his past trama, he will always walk with a limp, but you can't tell him that. Winston is a very special baby who will need a very special home to love and nurture him as he grows up. A fenced in yard is a good idea for him because he does tend to wander. If you have dogs who like to play rough, he may not be a good fit. If you are looking for a calm, loving, and adorable dog to take into your homehe is the dog for you.

Thank you for considering adopting a new family member. Most of our adoptable dogs live inside foster homes.  Fostering teaches house manners, helps to potty/crate train and accustoms the dogs become familiar with the sights, sounds of living in a home environment.

About Dogs 2nd Chance - Munford

About Our Rescue Group...

Dogs 2nd Chance is a 501[c]3 non-profit dog foster group that was founded in the fall of 2007. We are a group of VOLUNTEERS that saw the need to help medium and large mixed breed dogs find permanent loving homes. We have evolved to help any size dogs. We are NOT a shelter. We receive no government funding and depend on our minimal adoption fees, donations and our own bank accounts.

All of our dogs are fostered in our homes and become a temporary active member of our family. Fostering helps to socialize the dogs, helping them adjust to life in a family setting. The majority of our dogs were abandoned, dumped or found running stray. We attempt to reunite lost dogs with their owners by placing ads in local newspapers and online classified ads. Additionally, we rescue dogs from high kill shelters as space allows. We are caring for the castaways by saving one dog at a time.

Our Adoption Process...

Online Adoption Questionnaire located at

The adoption process includes filling out this questionnaire and signing an Adoption Agreement when the adoption is finalized. We check vet references, check with landlords and do home visits. All dog adopted must be family members not "just a dog".
