Additional Information: Majestic Shelby is any cat parent's dream. Quiet, well behaved, loving, an all around example child.
This tricolor beauty is a cautious girl who likes to take her time in exploring her surroundings. But she has no reservations in showing her affection to people, and loves getting head scratches as she snuggles next to you. Too busy to snuggle with her? No problems, she is more than happy to lounge on the cat tower, looking at the outside world with soulful eyes. Shake that bag of treats, or point the mysterious red light, and you will get to see her most playful and excited side!
While she doesn't actively seek out other furry friends, she is incredibly patient with them and would do fine alone or in a family with feline siblings.
Shelby would be an excellent first pet to anyone. If you've been thinking about getting one, think no more and send in an application to meet her!

If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon.

City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is a foster based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR&CK has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first served model).
Adoption fees // Dogs/puppies - $395; $200 for senior dogs // Cats/kittens - $150 (unless otherwise noted)
Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter (unless specified). We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDR&CK. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Cat specific: Rabies, FVRCP, Feline Leukemia vaccines. They are tested for FIV and FeLV.
Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Bordatella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.
Most cats and dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.
