Facts about Lobo—Ready to love you!

  • Breed: Pomeranian Mix

  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
Meet Lobo, the little diamond in the ruff. Don’t let appearances or age fool you, this 15-year-old, one-eyed little man still has lots of life left in him and plenty of love to give. Everyone who meets him falls in love.

He is a cuddly love machine and would love nothing more than a forever home with someone who is there all day so he can sit on their lap, get pet & enjoy all the other luxuries in life he so deserves. You will be richly rewarded with all the love he has to give (which is a lot!)

He loves going for 1/2 mile walks twice a day in his current foster home. He also enjoys playing fetch a few times a day with his little wool balls. He is pretty quiet most of the time but will occasionally have a senior moment and start barking (although we can’t always tell at what ; ) Cuddling him will settle him down.

Lobo is one of those awesome rescue stories that makes us love doing what we do. He came to us pretty skinny, with a large (non-cancerous) mass, a non-functioning eye and a mouth full of infection.
We took him to our vets, got him taken care of and now he is thriving! Although he is half blind and half deaf, he does a good job of getting around; he isn’t fazed when he accidentally runs into doors or people.

Lobo loves people of all ages but due to his small and somewhat fragile state, only homes with respectful children over 10 (or no kids!) will be considered.

He does good with small dogs and ignores overly friendly cats, he probably wouldn’t chase shy ones either but he does occasionally bark at the cat in his foster home. He does not do well with large dogs (30 lbs seems to be his limit) so no large dogs should reside in his forever home.

He is fine in a crate with his bed when you need to leave the house for a bit. His house training is great.

Due to the fact that he only has a few teeth he will need to be on a raw or canned diet for the rest of his life (not a big expense since he is only about 8 pounds)

Lobo's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, and up-to-date basic vaccines.

The rescue is based in Eastern Washington but Lobo is currently in foster in the Seattle area.

About Red Waggin' Rescue - Kirkland Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Red Waggin' Pet Rescue is a 501(c)3 that grew out of Connell Pet Rescue. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers that do this part-time and unpaid.

The City of Connell is located in Eastern Washington, and since it is a small city, it has no animal control, no proper animal shelter, and no pet rescue services. Red Waggin' Rescue is fully staffed by part-time volunteers to help the City of Connell Police Department rescue, provide vet care for, and find new forever homes for homeless dogs and other animals from Connell, WA and the surrounding areas. Our volunteers and foster homes are active in both Eastern Washington and the Puget Sound areas.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Although there is a small holding area managed by the City of Connell Police Department, Red Waggin' Rescue/Connell Pet Rescue has no permanent shelter facility.

Our animals stay in foster homes while they await their new homes, that are found in Eastern Washington and all the way to the Puget Sound area.

Generally, if an approved adopter is interested in another part of Washington State, transport can be arranged and runs roughly every other weekend.

Our Adoption Process...

Email for an adoption application form.

If you are interested to make one of our animals your new family member, please email for an application form, which you may fill out and email back to us.

Please allow a few days for a response, as we are only part-time volunteers. We require a completed application in order to meet a pet.

Once approved, if you meet a pet and all agree it is a good match: a volunteer will do a home visit, you will sign an adoption contract, pay the adoption fee, and begin the approval period. Generally, adoption fees are $250–$350 for dogs and $50–$150 for cats, and include spaying/neutering, basic vaccines, and microchipping, all required by our rescue.

All of our adoptions include a 7-day money-back approval period. After 7 days, a pet must still be returned to our rescue but adoption fees are not refunded.
